Aftercare codes

I recently read an article that stated you should use aftercare codes during a global period and follow-up codes after the global period. Does anyone know if this is accurate or applies to Medicare?

Are you referring to ICD-9 codes? During the global period, no bill is submitted, so I'm not sure why it matters what diagnosis code is used. I would use the reason for the surgery during the post op period.
