medicare

I keep getting different answers from medicare about shots I read on medicare.gov only three shots covered hep b pnemonia and flu. all other shots are not covered then it says thell pay for tetnus if theres a wound can someone tell what the answer is i billed a tetnus and it was denied

Medicare and shots

You are correct: for preventive services, there are only a few vaccines and their administration paid by Medicare.

However, for a patient with a wound, you can get paid for the tetanus vaccine and administration. You'll need a wound code as the diagnosis. You can't get paid just because the patient hasn't had the tetanus shot in ten years. Go figure.
