How to bill ANesthesia provided by surgeon..Medicare is denying claim for modifier. CPT 00520.
Provider is general surgeon. codes billed are : 00520, 31624 and 99233-25. DX are: 286.9, 799.02, 486, 518.81.

Medicare will deny such claims. You are either the anesthesiologist or you are the surgeon, not both. The anesthesia codes are payable to anesthesiologist.
