re: mohs surgery

Mohs surgery is used for the removal of basis cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma for skin cancer. I would go back to provider and ask him why he is performing the surgery. ICD-9 codes are not used for performing the surgery, they are used for the DX of why the surgery is being performed. There is no ICD-9 code for Mohs surgery. Please query your provider as to why!!
