Ndc #

Hello, my question is this..Insurance companies are asking for the NDC # on claims..I put them in as requested, but im getting rejections because its not eleven numbers. Where do you put the additional number at? and further more why are there not eleven numbers on the medication if that is what they require you to have?

re: NDC #

drugs should have 11 numbers. if they have 10 then you add the 0 to make up the extra number.

the drug sequence should be 5 numbers 4 numbers and 2 (of of the drug bottle.)
00000-0000-00

if your numbers read a 4-4-2 sequence, then you would have to add the zero at the beginning of the numbers. if you have 5-3-2 then ad the zero at the start of the middle numbers.

so if you have...1234-2222-01 then you would put 01234-2222-01.

if you have 12345-222-01 then you would put 12345-0222-01
