Port Flush

What is correct CPT® code? Also we used 200 units of Heparin and a Huber needle. What about 36000 for the flushing? Any thought on the supplies?

re: Port Flush

Flush of an implanted port is 96523. The CPT® book states do not bill *any* other service with it. CMS and commercial isurors take the latter advice seriously. If you bill heparin with it, you will be paid pennies for the heparin, and the flush (worth a minimum $25.00) will be denied with no recourse.
