Coding of fracture care

Our patient presented to the office with a right hand injury, x-ray revealed a right 5th metacarpal neck fracture. Our provider reduced the fracture and casted. Not clear on which way to code this as this is not something we generally treat in our office until this provider joined the practice, usually refer to Ortho. Any tips?

was this done with or without manipulation and was external fixtation also used?? I just realized that you stated that you stated you usually send them to ortho, so I'm thinking you did not do external fixtation, so in that case look at code 26600, which includes casting the fracture, if the fracture has to be aligned use code 26605. also don't forget to charge for the Xray.
