What is DRG?
re: DRG
DRG is "Diagnostically Related Group"
re: DRG
true.
I was trying to think of something that might be specifically "billing related".
Which brings up the important point that " 'context' IS everything" :-)
md.imtyiaz - what was the context in which "DRG" was used? OR, btwn these two things, has your question already been answered?
re: DRG
I want to know what does Diagnosis Related Group means?
re: DRG - as Diagnostic-Related Group
the online "free medical-dictionary" (using Mosby's Medical Dictionary) says it better than I can:
from http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/diagnostic-related+group
DRG: "a group of patients classified for measuring a medical facility's delivery of care. The classifications, used to determine Medicare payments for inpatient care, are based on primary and secondary diagnosis, primary and secondary procedures, age, and length of hospitalization. . . . "
there are other (typically similar) definitions out there if you plug the term into any 'search engine', Wikipedia, etc.
Hope that is what you're looking for.
Good luck.
