Medicare Denials
I have received 2 claims from Medicare stating "Missing/incomplete/invalid social security number or health insurance claim number". It seems pretty straight forward but the problem is the fact that Medicare has paid on several claims for each patient with no problem and no information has been changed. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what have you done to fix the problem? Thank you!!!

Start by calling your MAC IVR and use the last known good ID number. It might give you the current ID. There might be a change in the alpha suffix due to change in status. If not, call the patient and find out they have somehow changed their "official" name with Medicare for some reason (marriage / divorce, etc.).
