Global billing

Our office as an patient that had a genital wart removed on 11/12/13 then came in for her annual on 11/18/2013.

UHC is telling me that we need a modifier on the claim to have it separated. The insurance is making the Annual visit global with the office visit with the wart removal.

I am not 100% what modifier they are wanting.

If the wart removal has post op days then you would use a 24 on the visit code. Other than that I don't know what modifier they would be referring to.

The annual visit will need modifier 24 on it if the patient was in global from the procedure performed.

Also, make sure that the office visit that was billed on the same date as the procedure has the appropriate modifier (25 or 57).
