Poroma dx

Doc did a biopsy of the RT LEG. The result came back & it says FEATURES ARE CONSISTENT W/POROMA. I look up ICD 9 & it directs me to NEOPLASM- SKIN- BENIGN of the leg. LEG NEC- 229.8, LEG NOS- 216.7. Which one defines more of the result? Thanks!

In ICD-9 POROMA states see neoplasma skin, the description for the codes listed below in ICD-9 state as follows:

216.7-skin of lower limb, including hip

229= benighn neoplasm of other and unspecified sites
229.8=otherspecified sites
(intrathoracic NOS) (thoracic NOS)

i think your best bet would be the 216.7
