Mar 10 2010, 2:39 PM 		Hello group-I am confused about billing 77003 with 62272/62270.

In CPT it says that 77003 is included in 62270-62282 but when I check CCI there is no edit that says it cannot be billed separately.

Can anyone explain this rationale?

Mar 10 2010, 3:48 PM		 It states that "injection of contrast" is included. Injection of contrast is an inclusive component of the spinal injections listed, fluoroscopic guidance is not.

Mar 10 2010, 3:52 PM		 Nancy is right. Then ask yourself, it is necessary that this procedure be done under fluoroscopic guidance? The answer is probably not in your cases since these procedures (eg, lumbar puncture-62270, placement of lumbar drain-62272) are often done at the bedside.
