Mole

does anyone know what kind of ICD9 code to use for a "suspicious mole"? patient came into office for changes to an exisiting mole and we referred to derm for further treatment. thanks

I always struggle with that- I use 709.9- and have never been denied. You can't know if it is malignant or benign to better classify it.
