Registry reporting

•    Certain measures may be reported by a registry at the end of the year, rather than ongoing, claims based

•    These are indicated by an R in the list

•    Some measures may only be reported by registry reporting, not claims based on as part of a measures group

•    Practice must use an approved registry

•    List on CMS web site at

http://www.cms.hhs.gov/PQRI/20_Reporting.asp#TopOfPage

Using a registry

•    Most likely if you have an EMR and can collect data from your EMR

•    Also possible if you have entered quality data codes but not submitted them for some reason

•    The registries are commercial vendors: consider what will it cost you to use them versus what your incentive payment will be

If you plan to use a registry for 2009, talk to them now.

How will you collect the data so they can extract it??
