E&M Distributions

I am familiar with the E&M distribution curves for new and established visits that CMS has historically compiled - commonly used by primary care offices.

I manage General Surgery and OB. Are the distribution curves ( percentages by E&M CPT® code ) available for benchmarking specialty groups as well?

re: E&M Distributions

Yes, CMS has this data for all their recognized specialties. If you are handy with excel, you can work their numbers into a nice file with graphs.

You can find the info here:
http://www.cms.gov/Research-Statistics-Data-and-Systems/Statistics-Trends-and-Reports/MedicareFeeforSvcPartsAB/MedicareUtilizationforPartB.html

Scroll down and click on CY 2010 (most recent available...remember its FREE) which is like the third to last link from the bottom.
