Medicare and out of state Medicaid

I have a patient who has Medicare and out of state Medicaid (Medicare automatically crosses claim to Montana Medicaid). I know we won't get any payment from Medicaid, can we bill the patient for the remaining Medicare allowed balance after Medicare has paid?
