Lab code 86001

In speaking with a patient today, her insurance company told her that 86001 is no longer a valid code.....Any input?? Is there a replacement for this code?

It is in the 2014 CPT® coding manual and gives no other replacement for the code. If the code had changed there would be a code listed to replace it.
