hypophosphatemia

Any thoughts? Normal otherwise healthy adult male (fireman) had low levels of phosphorus. Treated, went to within normal limits and then fell again. History of benign meningioma several years ago, normal scans since resection.

pretty darn strange

if he is healthy and feels fine and calcium and magnesium is normal then the best answer is "don't test for it" If there are symptoms, then see an endocrinologist. It's too uncommon for a family doctor.

Thank you

All other blood work came back excellent. He shouldn't be deficient in Vit D as he is outside in the sun often.

His was 2 when they first found a problem. Then it went up to 2.8 after taking the phosphorus pills. Off them it went down to 2.4 by the time they did the blood work again.

The physician said the same thing and referred to Endo.
