Hi, When coding an inpatient account, a VATS is performed/wedge resection/lobectomy. Does the coder code the wedge resection at the same time during the same operative session as the lobectomy? Thanks

Depends on the case. Was the wedge done and then sent to pathology As a diagnostic and a lobectomy was done you can bill 32663, 32668. You can also bill a wedge of lung and a lobectomy from separate locations of lung just make sure you use your modifiers to show the were separate.
