Two MD's in exam at same time

I have two physicians of different specialties who have a joint (not body joint) clinic. One is a pain management/rehab MD and the other an Orthopedic Surgeon. They will both see the patient at the same time in the same room and bill separately. They will use different diagnoses. We are under the same tax ID#. While I'm not in the room, both MD's would not be doing the complete HPI/Exam/MDM. Time is documented in the note. My question:

Can two physicians share an office visit and bill when seeing the patient simultaneously?

I've never seen this before.

re: Two MD's in exam at same time

If each physician is doing the work to justify the E&M code, there seems to be no reason to not bill it. But be sure each is billing the work they did and not what the other doc did.
