"Is there a ICD9 code for a Groin Pull?"

I would look at 843.9 Unspecified site of hip and thigh if "groin pull" was all the information I had.

Groin Pull

A groin pull is a muscle strain. Code 848.8
If specified as a strain of sacroiliac ligament see code 846.1.

"A groin pull is an injury to the muscles of the inner thigh. The groin muscles, called the "adductor muscle" group, consists of six muscles that span the distance from the inner pelvis to the inner part of the femur (thigh bone). These muscles pull the legs together, and also help with other movements of the hip joint."

848.8 is in the catagory of other and ill defined sprains and strains.

The 843 catagory of sprains and strains of hip and thigh would be more specific. I would still use 843.9 unless the actual muscle or ligament was identified in the documentation.
