Colonoscopy and Prostate

If a patient requests a prostate exam be done right before or after a colonoscopy, can I bill for both the colonoscopy AND prostate exam? What code for the prostate exam?

This happens quite frequently. I guess they want to not remember the prostate exam...

I would think that the prostate exam would be done at the time of an office visit by the primary, not by the surgeon, but I could be wrong about this.

All the time

They do actually request it all the time. Our doctor doesn't much want to do prostate exams in the office, but agrees to do it right before the colonoscopy when he's doing the digital rectal exam.

So, is there a way to get reimbursed for this added service?
