Welcome to Medicare Physical

For a welcome to Meicare physical, it states that an EKG is "optional", but I heard at a meeting that it is included in the payment of the 99397 code and is not paid seperately - is this correct..?? Or can I bill the 93000..??

These are the codes, as appropriate:
G0403 – EKG
G0404 – EKG tracing only
G0405 – EKG, interpretation and report

Welcome to medicare

You don't bill 99397 for the visit, but G0402. The EKG codes (optional starting Jan 1 2009) are G0403, G0404, G0405 depending on if you do it globally, or just the TC or professional component.
