OB/GYN Coding Question

After delivering via C-section, the physician removes a "mass on the anterior uterus" using cautery and was sent for biopsy. Would it be appropriate to use modifier 22 with the delivery code OR is there a CPT code that better describes this mass removal? I cannot find "uterine mass removal" anywhere and we do not have the path report back.
Thanks-

Wait to code it!

It is always worth the 2 day wait to see the actual path- a malignant excision pays a lot better than a benign excision, even with the same procedure (at least in derm that applies).

Myomectomy

I am liking code 58140 and it shoudnt matter regarding neoplasm behavior since this code doesn't distinguish between benign or malignant.

I would check CCI edits and make sure this code is allowed with the C-section and if it requires a modifier, be sure to add it. Also bill the higher RVU code first.
