D.O.T. Exam
Currently, we are billing department of transportation exams using cpt 99429 and a diagnosis of V70.3. These exams are billed directly to the patient to submit to their employer. I just want to confirm that this is the correct billing and that the urinalysis and eye exam required for a DOT should not be billed separately.
Thank you.
Why not charge for the UA?
You pay for the cup and the test strip- you deserve to get paid. 99455 is the correct code. Read the article in LOOK IT UP at the left- put in DOT and viola!

Does the 99455 include the eye exam?
dot and PE
Can you bill for both an HME and a DOT? The HME goes to the Insurance and the DOT (including eye, extensive hearing testing, forms, etc) to the employer?
DOT and PE
I suggest having the patient return for the preventive service.
