What billing code can be used to bill doctor consultation with an injured workers Worker's Compensation case manager?

Talking with the case manager is probably not separately reimburseable. There are code plan oversight codes, but it's unlikely the WC carrier will pay them. Some states have WC fee schedules, and then you're just stuck. Some states have private companies that send you fee schedule amounts. If you're in one of those states, be sure the fees cover the pre and post work.

I thought it was an attempt at irony and humor!

I don't do Workmans Comp but with insurers that send forms or want me to call to precertify a service, I have the patient come in the office and help me fill out the form or listen to the phone call. That serves to let them know what information is being transmitted and I get to bill for the service based on time. I have yet to meet a lawyer that will even receive a fax without charging for it, much less fill it out, so why should I give away my time?

In MI, work comp has a procedure code RN001 that is billable when the case manager is present for the visit. The case manager must be carrier assigned and it reimburses $25 in addition to the other services provided that day and can be billed alone if the visit is in a post-op period. (pt must be present)
