Medical records

A patient's claim has been pending for almost 10 months now. The patient was seen in our office in October 2010. The claim is pending per receipt of medical records from the patient's PCP. This is getting ridiculous, as it is approaching one year since the time of visit. Is there anything I can do?

Of course- call the PCP and tell them to send the damn records to you and you will forward them to the insurer and tell the patient to call their insurer and advocate for you.
