HPV Testing

I work at an independent lab and we have been having some issues on how HPV screenings should be coded and submitted to the insurance. If the patient came in for a well woman exam and a HPV screening was also performed should we code the HPV screening with the V72.31 given by the physician or should be code it to highest specifity and use V73.81 for HPV screening. Any help with this issue would be appreciated. We would like to make sure these tests are being billed out correctly to avoid confusion in the future.

Thanks in advance,
Cassie Lawless, CCA
