E/M code and place of service issue

Oh my, I need some coding help with this scenario:

Doctor sees patients in an assisted living community. One of the RN's asks doc to look at her father (who is NOT a resident of the facility), so doc treats patient in the RN's office of the assisted living community.

Level 2 new patient - What type of E/M code can be used? Certainly not office, as it isn't the doc's office. Can't be the assisted living community codes as he is not a resident of the community. Any ideas????

Same with the place of service. At least with that I could use 99 as unassigned.

Personally, I told the doc this was a freebie, but wanted to double check with the experts.

I would code this as a home visit. The doc is seeing the patient in their choice of venue.
