Wouldn't you use Dx code v76.51 (special screening for malignant neoplasms,colon). After all, isn't that ultimately what is being screened?

Yes, if it is a screening, asymptomatic patient, no complaints.
If the patient has symptoms, code symptoms.

But there is always a but...

if the insurer asks you to use another code to get paid, use that code. Getting paid is more important than being right...sometimes.
