How do I bill a physician visit to Medicare for seeing a patient who is a resident of a hospice unit. Is the billed as a nursing home visit or hospital visit or something else?

I would use them

skilled nursing facility codes- 99304-9; I don't think this should be considered a domicile

If you are the attending, and seeing a patient in hospice, you'll need a modifier.

Hospice Billing

I code for hospice patients and we have facilities for these type of patient. I use hospital inpatient codes. 99221-99223 and 99231-99233. Hope this helps
