billing a CT & CTA together

What would be required to bill a CT & CTA together on the same date of service?

Jun 22nd, 2009 -

I will guess

Nothing is needed except a proper diagnosis for each test. The CT is for organ disease and the CTA for vascular disease so there should be very different diagnoses to justify both. I can't comment on modifiers for billing the technical component.

Cta & ct

Technically they can be billed together but this should be rare. You need to use caution when assigning CTA codes because there are very specific requirements for these. You must have image post-processing. Also a recommendation just came out that the reconstructed images must be 3D reformats.

Email me at sbuck@radrx.com and I can provide you with some information on the subject.
