Pediatric inpatient

What Inpatient CPT® initial care would I use when a 4 four year old is admitted to Pediatric? I am looking at 9947x, sub 9947x, and 9923x for discharge?

You would use the 99221/99222/99223 for the initial visit. The code does not distinguish between pediatrics and adults.

Subsequent inpatient visits would use the 99231/99232/99233 codes and for discharge you would use the 99238/99239 based upon time factor.
