Patient Medical Record Request

If a patient requests her record, is it sufficient to provide her with a copy of the chart as opposed to allowing her to review the original?

Yes, you can keep the original and provide a complete copy to the patient.

If the patient wants to verify that the copy is the same as your original record, I'd allow it.

Think about it this way

You "own" the chart. The patient "owns" the information in the chart. She can access it but you should never give away the actual chart. If she wants to "see" the actual chart, you should have someone sit with her while she views it.
