CPT® Code 90471

Medicare Part B keeps denying CPT® code 90471 qualifying other procedure not received. What is the appropriate way to bill this code?

90471 is for the injection of a vaccine, you need to have the accompaying CPT® code for the type of vaccine that you are given with it, example 90715 DTap, so you would bill the 90471 for the injection and 90715 for the type of vaccine being admistered such as DTap. See the Vaccine, Toxoids section of the CPT® book to determine what type of vaccine you should be billing for.
